At Grateful Journeys Pet Photography, every session is as unique as the pets/animals  I photograph. Whether your companion is young and playful, aging gracefully, hard at work, or part of your daily life on the farm or trail—my goal is always the same: to honor their story through authentic, heartfelt images.

Before the Session
After you book, you’ll receive a short and easy questionnaire to help me get to know your pet. You can share things like:

Their favorite toy or treat

What makes them feel comfortable

If they’re shy, energetic, a little older, or working with purpose

Any specific ideas or moments you’d love to capture

There are no right or wrong answers—just a space to tell me about your incredible friend.

Once I’ve received your responses, we’ll schedule a brief Zoom call to talk things over. This is our time to connect and dream up your perfect session. Whether we’re photographing a ranch dog doing their daily rounds, a pet navigating the later years of life, or simply your best friend in a beautiful landscape—you’ll help shape the story we’re about to tell.

Choosing the Right Location
Sessions can take place:

At your home or backyard for comfort and ease

On your farm or ranch, capturing life as it naturally unfolds

At a favorite trail, mountain, patch of wildflowers, or lakeside where you and your pet love to roam

In a quiet setting for aging pets or those needing a little extra care

We’ll pick the location that best fits your pet’s personality and your shared journey. If you’re unsure, I’m happy to make suggestions based on what we discuss.

During the Session
This is where the magic happens. The session will be relaxed, natural, and—most importantly—fun for both pets and people. I move at your pet’s pace, allowing them to be themselves, whether that means running full speed through a pasture, herding livestock, gazing calmly by your side, or curling up for snuggles.

I bring my camera and a heart ready to notice the quiet, beautiful moments—those looks, gestures, and playful bursts that speak volumes without a single word.
