 About Grateful Journeys Photography 

Grateful Journeys Photography isn’t just a business — it’s a love story, a healing path, and a shared purpose.

Our journey began with a life-altering diagnosis — a massive brain tumor that changed everything. What followed was a long road of surgeries, recovery, and daily challenges with chronic pain. But at the center of it all was David — my husband, my best friend, and now my partner in this adventure. His steady presence, quiet strength, and unwavering support became the foundation for something beautiful.

Together, we created Grateful Journeys Photography — a space where healing meets creativity, and where connection is always at the heart of every image. What started as a way to process my own story has grown into a shared mission: to capture the deep bonds between people, animals, and the land they call home.

David is more than an assistant — he’s an essential part of every session. Whether he’s helping carry gear, setting up equipment, or quietly taking pictures of me behind the scenes—simply soaking in the joy of watching me come alive again—his presence brings calm and warmth. Gently coaxing a dog into the perfect light, he brings calm energy and kindness to everything we do. His connection with animals and people alike helps make each session relaxed, joyful, and true to life.

While we specialize in pet portraiture, our lens also celebrates the beauty of ranch life, working dogs, and farm animals. We believe in honoring the rhythm of real life — muddy boots, wind-blown hair, weathered barns, and those quiet in-between moments that speak volumes.

And at the heart of it all is Hope — our Miniature Australian Shepherd. Her loyalty, companionship, and the way she simply sees me inspired everything. As David once said, “I’ve never seen a dog look at someone the way Hope looks at you.” That gaze, that bond — it’s what we strive to capture in every story we tell.

You might notice a bison in our logo — and that’s no accident. The bison represents everything this journey has come to mean: resilience, quiet strength, and an unshakable connection to the land. After my diagnosis, I found myself drawn to the bison’s steady presence and ability to face storms head-on. Like them, we’ve weathered the hard seasons, and come through with deeper roots and greater purpose. Including the bison in our logo is a tribute to that strength — and to the wild beauty we seek to honor in every image we create.

At Grateful Journeys, we joyfully celebrate the journeys animals add to our lives — whether curled up on the porch, working in the fields, running through wildflowers, or standing proud among farm animals. These are the moments that shape us.
